Heat bolster front line with 6’8” recruit
Men's Basketball
KELOWNA, BC - University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus men’s basketball coach Darren Semeniuk is excited to announce that Julian Asselstine has committed to the Heat for the 2011-12 varsity season. Julian, a 6’8” 195-pound forward/post out of Dr. Charles Best Secondary in Coquitlam, will enter the Engineering program at UBC and will add some valuable height to the Heat men’s basketball team.

BC’s #1 Female High School Volleyball player sign’s with Heat

KELOWNA, BC - The UBC Heat are pleased to announce the signing of Katy Klomps, a 6’1 middle blocker from Surrey Christian School, to the Women’s Volleyball team. Katy is an exciting addition to the team, as she is the first recruit for the Heat as a member of Canada West.

KELOWNA, BC - Bret Macdonald, by the end of the high school season was widely regarded as the best point guard prospect in BC after leading his Terry Fox Raven’s to a bronze medal at the BC Boys High school basketball provincials last month. Bret earned himself a spot on the first all-star team in the process averaging 19.5 points per game; 5.5 rebounds per game and 6.25 assists per game as he played 157 of his team’s 160 total minutes during the Ravens run in the tournament.
