KELOWNA, BC - The women’s team have moved on with a 90-57 point victory over the Langara Falcons, Madison Kaneda was named player of the game with 23 points including 5/7 from the three point line. The Heat led the game from start to finish and won the first quarter 20-15.
The second quarter the Heat really stepped on the gas as the backcourt duo of Kaneda and Kantz dominated the game as Jenna added 19 points to Madison 23 in the game. Those two girls each scored 13 in the first half as they extended their lead to 22 at the half and controlled the game with a 47-25 point lead.
The Heat kept up the pressure the entire game and at one point pushed the lead to 37 points as the won going away with a 90-57 point victory. The Heat will now move on to play the Number 2 seeded Vancouver Island Mariners in the rematch of last year’s provincial semi-final in which the Heat took down the Mariners on their home court.
The Heat look to repeat last year’s course as they continue to their quest to repeat as BCCAA provincial champions. The game will be played at 1:00pm on Friday in Abbotsford at 1:00pm. The winner of that game will move on the Provincial final Saturday at 6:00pm, and the loser will fight it out for Bronze Saturday at 1:00pm.
